Vacating the Premises
As you can see, Simon and Ben have a lot of catching up to do. Their moms & dads plan on doing the same over the next week. The Waddells and Peters are headed to the coast of South Carolina for some much needed R&R, seafood, sand, and surf.
When we started planning this vacation back in the spring, August seemed a long way off. It's hard to believe we'll be meeting our friends sometime tomorrow on Kiawah island.
In case you're a fairly new reader Simon has the same genetic disorder as Ben, Pallister Killiam Syndrome (PKS). We met the Peters family via PKS Kids which is a non-profit organization with the primary goal of raising awareness about PKS. Back in April they surprised with a visit to an art reception hosted by my mother - that would be about a 12 hour trip one way for a short weekend.
We couldn't think of a better way to repay the favor than asking them to join us on our vacation and we are more than delighted they accepted! I don't think any of us has ever been more excited about a vacation. All of us have that Christmas Eve type of emotion.
Even though we'll be gone several of our favorite bloggers graciously accepted an invitation to guest post. To be honest I am truly honored at how much each of them put into their pieces. In fact Joan can verify that I got a little emotional last night while getting them posted. Trust me, it'll be worth returning over the next few days. Again I want to thank those ladies for their kind generosity!
I wish everyone a safe and joy-filled week. We're certain we will have plenty to blog about when we return. We'll see you next weekend!
