R.I.P. Randy Pausch

One of the true inspirations of the past 12 months has passed away. Randy died knowing that he left an indelible mark for the better upon our world. In this age of cynicism Mr. Pausch taught us how to live our lives day to day, moment to moment. That in fact is one of the missions of this blog yet I could never teach that so eloquently as he did last fall to his students which he delivered again on Oprah in November.

If there ever is such a thing as a lecture that truly needs to be heard by everyone this is it. Like all of the other millions of souls this man touched our condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with his family. Just in case you haven't seen it you'd better have a box of tissues ready...

This is the entire lecture (over one hour) given at Carnegie Mellon University. The shorter version from Oprah is just below it.

Thanks for posting this. It's been haunting me all day. I could and need to learn so much from the lessons he teaches. I made Alex watch it today too. What a man and a legacy for his children. How sad they've lost him.

I remember seeing his great speech. It was inspiring to say the least. He will be sorely missed as a man with remarkable courage.

Such a sad thing, his passing. It's amazing what he accomplished in his life though.
