It's a Small World After All

God, how I hate that song. But it is true. If I needed a reminder then this weekend was a giant Post-It Note from Heaven.

Despite a drizzly beginning on Saturday morning the weather couldn't have been any better. The folks running the festival couldn't have made an artist more comfortable. And the sales were very typical for a community show: slow on Saturday, spend on Sunday. My friends, it was an awesome weekend!

I can say that for a variety of reasons. Foremost was the success I had in selling my artwork. Bless you Gwinnett County, Georgia! To add more joy to a wonderful occasion I not only had a reunion with a couple I had not seen in years and are still so dear to me, but I got to know a family whose son has autism. Of course that is always kind of like a reunion when it happens.

It is still hard for me to fathom having such good shows to begin this year. Knowing the economic situation at hand I have chosen to only participate in shows within a fairly short distance of home this year. My guess is the Big Guy In Charge is obviously helping with the choices. Not only have the shows been financially successful but I'm getting to meet some other awesome exceptional families. To me that is more important than the sales.

I have much more to add but I'm very tired tonight. I can't wait to tell you about my friends David and Christy Pynne. We had a blast catching up with each other yesterday! There is a great story to tell about them. We were friends in college and never imagined any of us living life the way we have. They are another couple quietly making a difference within their community. Dave and Christy, you both made my weekend! Seriously.

Come back soon my friends for some more great stories.
