Dr. Funkenstein is Needed in Da House!

My dear blogging brothers and sisters, I have been neglecting you these past few days. It seems that I am in a funk. A bad funk. A depressing kind of funk.

Days are short and the nights used to be longer just a few short years ago. Instead the days are just short and then it's time for bed. I never thought I'd reach that place in life my parents got to where sleep was something so treasured that they scheduled days off once we went back to school. I now know Mom. God bless you and rest Dad's soul.

Hibernation is now the affliction we are trying to fight off. Me and Joan want to eat everything in sight and then take a nap - naps that last until March. We have two problems though. One is named Jessie and the other Ben.

There is nothing profound to look forward to now that the holidays are over. Nothing to wake up and open half an eye to until daylight savings time arrives once again. I've tried painting but I wake up on the floor in front of my easel with the letter "z" written upon the canvas. I've shoved Joan onto the floor helped Joan arise from her slumber so she can be at work on time only to have her arrive home in a zombie-like state saying nighty-nights to the kids as she falls amongst the bed covers.

We are in dire straights here, people! We need help. Things are so bad we found Ben calling the cat "Ma" and the television "Da". We are pathetic. We cannot for the life of us entertain ourselves until spring. Any suggestions? We want them. Now!

I want them now too. We are so lethargic. We can't get anything cleaned up, picked up, organized. Part of that problem is that we have TOO MUCH STUFF and TOO LITTLE ROOM.
I've spent the last 2 1/2 weeks sleeping in until 9:00 or so and am still tired.

I hope your other readers have some good ideas. I'm with you, Bennie.

Blogger ate my comment. Damn it.

I'm in the same boat as you. Totally lethargic. Been trying to force myself out of the house to play outside with the kids, cuz otherwise I just fall asleep on the couch and the kids run rampant, vandalizing the house.

Sigh.

Have a happy new year, Friend.

Ugh...after this recent vacation, I am totally going to be in the same boat, and relishing ever minute of it. LOL.

that'll keep you awake.

leave me an email and let me know how all that's working out for you as i myself am too tired to take my own advice.

like now, it's 5pm and i'm ready for a nap, but if i take one i'll be up all night and well, i planned on being in bed early so....

I know what you mean! I just want to eat and nap for the month of January! I swore that today would the day I got back to work painting, but did I? Nooooooo! I futzed around the house, relishing the silence (the kids are in school again, oh happy day!). Hang in there - Spring will be here in a few months!

In the words of the Great James Brown, you need to get up offa that thing!!!

Get up offa that thing,
and shake 'till you feel better,
Get up offa that thing,
and shake it, sing it now!
Get up offa that thing,
and shake 'till you feel better,
Get up offa that thing,
and try to release that pressure!
Get up offa that thing, (Ha!)
and twist 'till you feel better,
Get up offa that thing,
and shake 'till you, sing it now!
Get up offa that thing,
and shake 'till you feel better,
Get up offa that thing,
and try to release that pressure!
