The Boys Are Back In Town

I wish we could say we're happy about it but that is just not the case. Our early winter retreat went marvelous! We had a blast and by blast I mean none of that nasty frozen stuff most of you had to endure last week.

Instead we had the warmth of smiles, laughs, giggles, and memories that will last until spring. There were so many positives about our trip that losing power (probably due to fire ants) for a short while last Friday was almost forgotten.

Me-Ma and Ben bonded like they never have before! That is not to say that my mom hasn't been brave before and stepped up to the plate when needed. It's just to say Me-Ma got to spend the most one-on-one time she's ever had with her youngest grandson. Ben was all into that as he yelled "Ma!" and watched the birds eat our leftovers she left each day on the deck outside. Even the picture featured here is a book Ben decided to read to her!

Joan probably gained a little more confidence in her husband since he took care of Ben for a little over a week. Me and Me-Ma even got Big Boy into the bathtub for a good scrub just before the other ladies arrived! To say that things went well is an understatement.

We have many pictures and videos to share over the next few days. We are one happy family, well-rested, well-relaxed, and definitely well-fed. I even got my artistic "mojo" back, completing 6 paintings and starting another three! Gretchen, I might have that "coast town" painting you've been looking for. Shoot me an e-mail.

All in all it was a great great week. We'll be heading back in March so all of us are now counting the days. It is good to be blogging again so we can keep in touch with with our extended family. I hop all is well with everyone and I look forward to catching up with you the next few days!

Hi Guys - welcome back!
Missed you!
What a cool kid Ben is - his laugh is a million dollar smile, and that says a lot about how your vacation went!
Glad to hear you're painting again - can't wait to see what you've been up to.
