Pics in a PICU

Sorry for the grainy look to the images. I used my camera phone to take all of these. Honest I wasn't trying to be morose when I started snapping away. Ben was just too damn cute trying to convince me he was "feeling better." The first one is Ben holding Funky, his sleeping companion over the weekend. Yeah it rhymes with monkey but it actually came from a Rodney Crowell song. Obviously you can see where the "vampires" drew blood on Friday night (right elbow). You can also see a bruise on his right wrist via one of the sticks to get an IV going.

Left hand once again. Those are my fingers at the bottom. Ben held my hand all day long. He became distressed if I had to get up for some reason.

Dawn Z. gives Ben a farewell kiss. She was one of Ben's nurses the first time he was admitted to the PICU. As you can see our boy made the trip to our van in a wagon.

Sleeping soundly with Fast Freddie the Frog last night at home. We did not pose him. He and Freddie are good buddies.

Big PS - I'm beginning to catch up on your blogs. Although I'm certain you understand I've been busy, the Sphere and the Neighborhood moves fast and I hate to lose touch with real life. No matter how virtual it's become. And to our new friends, I can't wait to get to know you!
