Eight Years, Five Days, and Counting...

Today was a celebration! Those of us that are fortunate enough to be near him got to celebrate his eighth birthday today. We visited Cleveland Park which is the most used city park in South Carolina and home of The Greenville Zoo. We had a picnic with family and friends on a wonderful fall day here in the South.

Ben was full of smiles and actually got to eat about half a cupcake! We have video of that which I will share later since Blogger still has problems uploading video (YouTube is MUCH better at the moment). We'll share some great video of him eating his cupcake and the fun we had over the next few days. The picture depicts his euphoria at being the center of attention. The Little Man was laughing so hard that he was shaking!

This was an incredible experience for those that love Ben the most. He was less camera shy than normal and truly loved seeing the exhibits at out local zoo. The nurses that have made such an important impact on his life were there along with cousins, family, and a few unexpected friends.

It has been a very busy weekend for me since I had an art show in a community nearby. The unfortunate ending of that experience will be detailed later this week. I want our wonderful day to overshadow what happened in Greer, SC yesterday. Ben's birthday celebration was the salve that heals a big wound for me. Details of both are forthcoming.

Anyway I want to apologize to my blogging friends for not visiting your wonderful blogs the past few days. I think you will understand once I can tell my tale. I'm exhausted and headed to bed shortly. Know that Ben had one of those days today that will be a part of our family lore forever. It was that good!
