Bad Days Accomplishing Much &
Good Days Accomplishing Little
I'd say that this weekend falls into the second category for me and Ben. The ladies of the house are in Charleston, South Carolina at Jessie's national dance competition. The guys have been hanging out around the house not doing much at all except male bonding activities. While I ran errands, cleaned house, and washed clothes Ben enjoyed a much needed visit from his Me-Ma for several hours today. We then turned on the TV to check out sports and some missed Sponge Bob episodes.
Meanwhile down in Charles Town the girls were busy with dance related activities. Miz Wah is not so keen in being one of the chaperons for 60 Ginger Rogers wannabes. Her mission included killing 60 sand dollars found on the beach yesterday so that each young lady had a memento to carry home. Also she had to apply stage make-up and prepare a couple of costumes for Jessie. I'm just glad I wasn't the one who fell into category number one.
Jessie's company finished third overall this morning and she's most likely getting ready for one of the big finales as I type this. I'm very proud of my daughter. She takes her "hobby" very seriously and endured two-a-day practices this past week to get ready for this weekend. I heard not a single complaint that she was missing out on swimming, hanging out with friends, or generally missing out on 10-year-old summer fun.
Ben is still recovering from the residual affects of the summer cold we've all shared. That virus kicked all of our asses once we returned home. In fact Nurse Lisa has suffered from it longer than anyone besides Ben so the three of us sounded like sick frogs all day Friday. I'm hoping no one else has to suffer through stuffy heads or congested lungs like we have the past two weeks.
Even with the relaxing atmosphere The Two Bens have enjoyed the day was made even better by a package the younger Ben received from Moosh up in Indiana. He has a new "friend" he can't wait to tell you about but since our camera is with the girls we'll share that news with you when they get home tomorrow! Casey, you are awesome!
I hope everyone's weekend has been and will be just as enjoyable as ours. Ben is one fine dude to hang out with. Hopefully we'll have some pool related pictures to share as we approach The Fourth.

OH GOODY. Crazy Eyed Sam is a first attempt and needed to go to someone who could love him, but not massacre him.
My little Ben was the perfect canidate.
I just found your blog for the first time today, and I love it. The paintings that you and Ben do are simply beautiful! I hope you guys enjoy your quiet weekend.
Welcome Karen! We've just added your Ben to our Curator section. It's a special blog roll of our Ben's exceptional friends!
Looks like you two were hard at work in that picture. *cough* But those days are way better than any...
Congrats to Jessie! I would love to see a video of her dancing someday. Bless her heart.
Sorry to hear you boys have been under the weather. Summer colds suck.
