On the Palette

Magenta: This has been a most excellent week for Ben and his overall health. If you haven't been by here in awhile Ben has had some rough weeks the past month. Between seizures and stomach issues Ben lost about two full weeks of school and therapy. Although Ben only went one day this week he seems to have picked up right where we left off in regards to therapy and cognition. In fact after watching two of his classmates walking with little aid Ben has been desperately trying to take some steps on his own! He'll really be motivated when we can get him back in the stander.

Cadmium Red: The reason we've not been able to use the stander recently is due to an abscess on his left inner thigh. Although most of it has dissipated with oral and topical medications a hard knot remains. We decided earlier this week to go ahead and have it surgically removed. The outpatient procedure will be done this coming Wednesday. This should be know big deal but putting Ben under general anesthesia is always frightening for us. Definitely keep Ben in mind and in your prayers next week.

Brilliant Blue: Doing the art show last weekend really got the creative juices flowing again! I'm currently working on some new animal themed paintings. They're along the lines of the whimsical fish I did last year that were so successful (and continue to be). Also with the 70 degree Spring-like weather already here and daylight savings time arriving Sunday I might just be able to get outside and paint on location.

I'm so glad Ben is feeling healthy!! It must be such a relief. Lots of good wishes for the surgery. And you say you are painting fish?? We might just be interested in a small one, KayTar loves her "Ish".

I think I see some potential in two of Ben's latest.

Yeah for a healthy Ben!

Sorry to hear of the upcoming outpatient surgery, but I have faith.

Glad to hear you got the creative juices flowing again. I can't wait for it to be 70+ degrees here. Painting outside must be a breath of fresh air. Does Ben enjoy it outside? I can see him playing under a tree while you paint...I'm sure that alone is a beautiful picture itself.

Have a great weekend!

Ben LOVES it outside. We're going to work on the camper tomorrow so he'll probably be outside all day.

I guess I'll have to come up with some more rock for you next time.
